Development of Expense Management
System |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The client is a leading global
investment banking, securities
and investment management firm
that provides a wide range of
services worldwide to a
substantial and diversified
client base that includes
corporations, financial
institutions, governments and
high-net-worth individuals.

Situation |
|
|
|
|
In the fast-paced competitive
global work environment, where
cost savings on internal
processes represent a
competitive advantage, the
client was in need of a system
that would provide complete,
up-to-date expense information.
The sheer size and global
presence of the organization
made it difficult to collect and
control this information without
a web-based system in place.

Solution |
|
|
|
|
With the cost of traditional web
application development
prohibitively high, the client
turned to CTI for its XMLSP™
technology. A project team of
PowerBuilder developers was
quickly trained to use XMLSP,
DW2Java and XMLSP Studio tools.

System Highlights and Results |
|
|
|
|
With single DB2 UDB 7.1 warehouse
database and WebLogic
Application Server, EMS serves
more then 900 users worldwide.
First production release of EMS
was delivered in few months.
DW2Java converter provided the
client with compact and
effective J2EE components ready
to use.
But even more important than the
cost, is the increased
functionality that XMLSP
provides. The strength of the
new XMLSP Studio™ shortens
delivery of new version EMS
substantially and plays an
important role in enabling us to
provide a more personalized user
experience |

|
|
“XMLSP gives us the building blocks that
accelerate the delivery of new applications,
enable the presentation of dynamic content,
lower administration and management costs,
and integrate with our legacy systems and
third-party applications.
The XMLSP platform has been a huge plus for
us. It has allowed us to build Expense
Management System (EMS) with a functionality
that we previously could not afford.”
